Research Interests
I am a 1st year PhD student at Centre de Mathematiques et de Leurs Applications (CMLA), ENS de Cachan, having as scientific supervisors both professors Guy Barles and Jean-Michel Morel. My research topic is the Mathematical Consistency of Image Processing Algorithms. Namely, my interests lean on
- Mathematical morphology (PDEs associated, consitency with.., differential calculus on manifolds);
- Viscosity solutions for second order elliptic and parabolic partial differential equations;
- Front propagation and free boundaries.
The 'stage' of Master Research, 2nd year, took place at CMLA, under the coordination of professor Jean-Michel Morel. It concerned the mean curvature motion and the curve shortening problem, leading to a result on the link between them, that comes from image processing.
Nevertheless, my mathematical interests are also in the areas of
- Optimal control, calculus of variations and dynamical systems;
- Inverse scattering and theory of solitons. Solvability and asymptotic behaviour of the KdV equation;
that I started to explore under the coordination of professors Catalin Lefter and Ioan Vrabie, at the Faculty of Mathematics, Alexandru Ioan Cuza University in Iasi, Romania.
Free Time
I am very keen on mountaineering. I enjoy being with my family and friends. Folk music brings me close to home. Enjoy .. :).
