Abstract :

This paper is devoted to the establishment at the formal level of an expansion leading from gas-particles (also called Eulerian-Lagrangian) models for monodisperse thick sprays towards multiphase flows models (also called Eulerian-Eulerian). This passage to the limit is done through a Hilbert type expansion involving an inelastic collision operator whose kernel only consists of distributions in velocities and internal energies which are Dirac masses.
